Personal Message
Communication is our passion. And it shows. At the Manship School, students and faculty know each other by name and work closely together. Students find a dynamic place to build the skills they need to become creative thinkers and leaders in media and public affairs.
As we all continue living and learning in environments transformed by the pandemic, we extend our deepest appreciation to you, our community of supporters. Because of you, we are able to ensure our students have access to experiential learning opportunities such as covering the Louisiana Legislature for our Statehouse Bureau and spearheading communication campaigns for ImPRint, our student-run public relations firm. Additionally, students may have difficulty accessing professional training opportunities in national media centers (e.g., New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C.) without support for transaction costs associated with lodging and travel. Gifts to our Excellence Fund support these critical initiatives.
Essential to our field-based learning is LSU Student Media. Nearly 200 students work as reporters, editors, producers, designers, advertising professionals, and digital content creators across four student-led media outlets: Reveille, Tiger TV, KLSU and Gumbo. As technology changes, we seek to provide these students with resources to thrive in an everchanging media landscape. Gifts to our Student Media Development Fund benefit these students, staff and facilities.
In addition to experiential learning opportunities, we seek to amplify our students’ educational experiences through scholarships. Increased scholarship support equips our students with financial security to facilitate their retention and timely graduation. This is especially important for recruiting and retaining historically underrepresented students, a priority for our school. Gifts to our General Scholarship Fund support these efforts.
The Manship School prepares students to lead the conversation about the future’s most critical questions. Your generous giving enables us to do this important work.
