College of Science

The LSU College of Science is translating science into solutions, addressing deep-rooted challenges, and answering questions essential to the health and progress of our state, nation, and beyond.

Our research is a centerpiece in LSU’s Scholarship First Agenda, with threads that run throughout each of the agenda’s pentagon priorities, driving next-level possibilities in agriculture, biotechnology and biomedicine, coast and environment, defense, and energy.

This Giving Day, we invite our alumni, donors, faculty, staff, students, and friends to join us in making a lasting impact on the world of scientific discovery by giving to our three priority funds:

Priority Funds

College of Science Development Fund: Gifts of any size to the Science Development Fund are immediately put to work, creating a transformative impact on students, faculty, and staff alike. By supporting the Science Development Fund, donors ensure that their contributions are maximized and directed to where they are needed most.

Science Development Fund donors of $1,000 or more (annually) may also be eligible for membership in the Dean’s Circle — an exclusive group of generous alumni and friends who share a passion for LSU and are dedicated to advancing research and scholarship in the College of Science.

College of Science Scholarship Fund: As incoming student numbers continue to increase each year, we must give our students as many opportunities as possible to earn scholarships to help cover their financial responsibilities. Your gift to the Science Scholarship Fund is guaranteed to make a significant financial impact on our students and open the door to a world-class LSU education.

Dean’s Excellence & Innovation Fund: The Excellence & Innovation Fund is a dynamic and influential form of support that empowers the dean to promptly address the most pressing priorities, and often unforeseen opportunities, of the college and each academic department (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology & Geophysics, Mathematics, and Physics & Astronomy), and the Museum of Natural Science. This flexibility becomes crucial as we navigate the intricate path forward, working towards the milestones outlined in our new Strategic Plan 2030.
