Why Your Support Matters
Founded in 1935, LSU Press is one of the nation’s most acclaimed scholarly publishers, recognized for four Pulitzer Prizes as well as many other prestigious awards. LSU Press publishes approximately 75 titles a year in subjects ranging from southern history and literature to environmental studies, poetry, and foodways. Also established in 1935, The Southern Review (TSR) receives national and international accolades for its poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art. Together we are a team of 20 dedicated staff, and we take seriously our mission to promote the achievements of our state and region and to educate readers about our culture and history.
This LSU Giving Day, your gift will strengthen the winning teams that drive the LSU Press and The Southern Review forward. Thank you for your support!
Impact Areas
Your generosity on LSU Giving Day impacts the following priority initiatives:
1. LSU Press Annual Fund
Your gift to this fund will provide unrestricted, flexible support to the Press, enabling us to produce high-quality books, price them competitively, and market them more broadly than we otherwise would be able to do.
2. The Southern Review Fund
Your gift to this fund will provide unrestricted, flexible support for The Southern Review, enabling us to publish both emerging and established authors, and also to market the journal more broadly than we otherwise would be able to do.
3. LSU Press Author Recruitment Fund
Scholarly presses today commonly offer advances against book royalty payments to authors, both as a means of supporting their work and as a competitive tool to attract the best talent. Your gift to this fund will boost our ability to attract the best writers and scholars locally, regionally, and nationally.
