Established in 1976, the LSU Staff Senate promotes and protects the welfare of the LSU staff by representing the interests of and issues impacting all staff members. It reviews policies proposed or previously adopted that affect staff, promotes the effective exchange of information between LSU administration and staff, and proposes and maintains programs to enhance the professional well-being of staff.

1. LSU Staff Senate Fee Support Scholarship

The Staff Senate Fee Support Scholarship was created to offer financial assistance to eligible staff members who are in active pursuit of a degree from the main campus of LSU. The LSU Staff Senate recognizes that furthering one’s education can positively enhance the professional development, skills, and the career longevity of the staff.

2. LSU Faculty & Staff Career Excellence and Enrichment Award

The LSU Faculty & Staff Career Excellence and Enrichment Award provides awardees with funding for professional development and education. This includes, but is no limited to, conferences, trainings, courses, and certifications. This award is funded through specified philanthropic giving to the LSU Foundation. Award amounts vary and can be up to $1,000.
