Why Your Support Matters

The Office of Undergraduate Research supports student participation in creative or research projects under the mentorship of a faculty member or researcher. Considered a high-impact practice, undergraduate research provides students an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems, expand their skills, and connect with LSU’s world-class faculty.

Our office provides a variety of resources to research students, and we welcome your support of LSU undergraduate researchers through donations toward two of our most popular resources: student project grants and student travel stipends.

This LSU Giving Day, your gift will strengthen the winning teams that drive the Office of Undergraduate Research forward. Thank you for your support!

Impact Areas

Your generosity on LSU Giving Day impacts the following priority initiatives:

1. Office of Undergraduate Research's Project Fund

Each year, OUR provides Project Grants to fund undergraduate research or creative projects. Since its inception in 2017, these Project Grants have funded nearly 200 student projects from disciplines across all LSU colleges! This year, we’re excited to spotlight a ‘special’ initiative. In collaboration with LSU Libraries Special Collections, three undergraduates will be selected to conduct research on the history of our present campus in preparation for LSU’s Centennial in 2026. 2. Office of Undergraduate Research's Travel Stipends

OUR Travel Stipends offer financial support to students for travel expenses related to presenting their research at professional academic conferences. To date, we have provided travel stipends to over 150 undergraduates for travel, both nationally and internationally.
